WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Pianos are a cornerstone and a staple in every musician’s life. Every good music program has at least one, if not many, pianos.
If maintained properly, pianos should last many decades, with some outstanding instruments being over 100 years old!
Tuning is the place to start. Every piano should be tuned at least once a year. A typical residential piano, if tuned every year, should be a reliable instrument for the home for many, many years. Pianos used for public events (chuches, schools, etc.) especially those used for worship or performance, should be tuned every 6 months or so (especially in Michigan) with some even finding that every 3 months is even better.
Ron Weiler, the co founder, co-owner, and piano technician for Weiler Creative Media has a lifetime of experience with pianos. He can not only offer tuning services, but can perform just about any repair, maintenance service, or artistic adjustment possible.

When you set up your first appointment, Ron will come to the piano in need of service and give it a good tuning. If it’s been a long time since it’s been tuned this may take around 3 hours. However, if the piano has been well maintained (and especially if Ron tuned it last!) it may take only 2-2.5 hours. This first appointment will be $200, and also include an evaluation of the piano - you will receive a digital “report” of your piano including any repairs, services or adjustments that are recommended based upon that evaluation. You can do with this information what you will, and there is never an expectation of any further work, unless desires by the owner!

We offer maintenance and repair for grand pianos, uprights, spinets, and player pianos. Note that player pianos may require more time due to their complex mechanisms. Other pianos can receive various adjustments and repairs during a tuning visit.
